Cannot be good for America.
CVS (NYSE: CVS) reported strong Q4 2015 earnings on the back of strong sales of prescription drugs and gains from acquisitions in the long-term care business. Strong sales in America’s second largest pharmacy chain mean that more Americans are getting unhealthier and reliant on prescription drugs. This also means that Americans will pay more for medical insurance and healthcare. The healthcare industry is possibly the only industry where a healthy population is a risk factor, while an aging and ill population presents a big opportunity.
